Description

A small cup with big versatility. Hand-painted in Hasami, Japan, each piece from the BARBAR series features a soft gray-white porcelain base brushed with traditional indigo motifs—full of gentle lines, subtle variations, and the charm of true handwork.

Sized comfortably for everyday use, it rests naturally in your hand — not too light, not too heavy. Use it as a tea cup (hojicha looks especially beautiful in it, in my opinion), a smaller coffee cup, a dipping cup for sauces, or even as a little dessert bowl. These cups shift easily between roles and bring a quiet warmth to the table.

Choose from three classic patterns, each with its own character and history. Whether paired with the matching rice bowls and plates or mixed into your existing collection, it’s the kind of piece that quietly becomes part of your daily rhythm.

Note: Each cup is hand-painted, so the expression and depth of color in the patterns will vary, giving every piece its own personality. Tiny specks in the clay or glaze are part of the material’s natural character, not flaws. Because each one is crafted by hand, size and weight may differ slightly from the listed measurements—part of what makes them feel alive.
