Description
Made in Kyoto by Shoyeido, Horin is a beautifully layered collection of Japanese incense inspired by places and periods in Japanese history. Horin means 'fragrant ring,' a fitting name for fragrances that gently unfold, fill a space, and slowly fade away.
Each scent is carefully blended with aromatic woods, herbs, resins, and spices, carrying a small sense of Kyoto with it. The short sticks burn for approximately 20 minutes, just enough for a quiet pause in the morning, after dinner, or at the end of a long day.
Horikawa
Rich, warm, and enveloping. Sandalwood is layered with cinnamon and frankincense, creating a softly sweet fragrance with gentle spice and lingering depth. Named for Horikawa, a historic waterway running through Kyoto, it has a comforting warmth that slowly settles into the room.
Shirakawa
Soft sandalwood sweetness with a clean, crisp finish. Warm yet light, the fragrance opens gently and leaves a subtle sweetness behind. Named after the Shirakawa stream that winds through Kyoto, it has a graceful, quietly lingering character.
Nijo
Gentle sandalwood with a delicate sweetness and a fresh, airy quality reminiscent of an afternoon rain. Soft and elegant, with a quiet freshness that feels especially lovely when the air is still.
Not sure which fragrance to choose? A Horin Incense Assortment featuring five scents from the collection is also available.
*Please note that Horikawa is not included in the assortment.
