Description:
Inspired by the legendary “Maguro Socks” worn by tuna fishermen in harsh, icy conditions, these ultra-warm, thick socks have been revived and updated by SAGYO after production was discontinued years ago. Renowned for their unbeatable warmth and insulation, these socks are said to provide the comfort of an extra layer, so you can handle the cold without piling on more clothes.
The original version, made by the family of SAGYO’s director’s friend, even withstood the brutal winter of Moscow—paired only with canvas sneakers! To bring them back, SAGYO faced the challenge of finding machinery that could knit such thick yarn, which led them to Nara Prefecture, where old-fashioned machines made it possible. While the durable design remains almost unchanged, the socks now feature wool for better breathability, anti-slip grips, and soft, elastic cuffs that won’t leave marks.
They’re perfect for gifting! Whether braving the outdoors or cozying up at home, the Maguro Fishermen's Socks are crafted for those who demand extraordinary warmth and comfort.
