Description

A beautifully crafted brass pie server for serving slices of pie, cake, tart, or even pizza.

Originally created for a restaurant in Kyoto, this piece was so well loved for both its form and ease of use that it became part of Lue’s collection. Though it was introduced in Japan as a pizza server, its charming triangular shape with softly rounded corners feels just as at home serving slices of pie, cake, tart, or quiche.

The slender brass handle is formed from a single line of brass, with subtle hand-hammered texture that gives it the warmth and character of true handwork. Paired with the smooth, softly gleaming scoop, it has a refined yet playful presence that feels lovely both at the table and in the kitchen.

Its size feels especially right for home use—not too large, easy to handle, and just as useful for savory dishes as it is for desserts. After use, it can be hung from a hook, where the gentle glow of brass adds a quiet accent to the wall.

One of the pleasures of brass is how it changes over time. With use, the bright golden finish gradually softens into a deeper, calmer patina, making each piece more personal as the years go by.

Read Before You Purchase
Each pie server is made by hand, so slight variations in shape, size, texture, and finish are natural. These subtle differences are part of the charm of handcrafted brass.

Over time, the brass will develop a deeper, softer patina with use and exposure to air. This natural aging is part of its beauty.

Care

Hand wash promptly after use with mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Regular care helps the brass develop a natural protective patina over time and can also reduce the metallic smell.

Do not leave it unwashed after use or in contact with food for long periods, as this may cause darkening or verdigris (green patina) to develop.

If you’d like to brighten the brass, gently polish it with a metal polish or wash with water mixed with a little vinegar. For more stubborn discoloration, soaking it overnight in diluted vinegar before polishing can help.

Artisan

Lue is a small brass studio based in Setouchi, Okayama, Japan, founded by Ruka Kikuchi in 2006. Known for handcrafted brass tableware and objects, Lue creates pieces with a warm, sculptural presence and a thoughtful balance of beauty and function.

The softly hammered texture and slender form give each piece a distinct character. Over time, the bright golden finish of brass naturally softens into a deeper, calmer patina—one of the material’s most appealing qualities. Lue creates objects meant to be used often, loved for years, and enjoyed as they grow more beautiful with age.
