A quiet reset for the new year

A quiet reset for the new year

At the start of the year, I replaced the sponge and tawashi scrubber in our kitchen.

The sponge had a few small slips from cleaning a freshly sharpened knife. This sponge, though, was actually still quite new — maybe a month in. The Sunsun sponge lasts crazy long. I usually reach for a tawashi when cleaning knives, but somehow this time I grabbed the sponge after sharpening and… that was it.

The tawashi brush had started to splay and soften after many months at the sink. It felt like the right moment to bring out new ones.

The sponge moved to the bathroom and is now cleaning the sink there. The tawashi went outside and took on a new role, scrubbing shoes instead of dishes.

It wasn’t a big change — just a small adjustment in how things are used around the house.
A simple way to start fresh, without starting over.
