About Japan Fair
Japan Fair began with a simple idea.
Several brands from Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan, were planning a series of pop-up events in Portland in September 2026. As plans for the Portland pop-ups began taking shape, I found myself wondering: what if we invited local Portland businesses, makers, artists, and organizations with connections to Japan and turned it into a community celebration?
From that conversation, Japan Fair was born.
What started as a small visiting pop-up has grown into a community event celebrating Japanese craftsmanship, food, design, culture, and the people who help keep these traditions and connections alive here in Portland.
We are especially grateful to Coava Coffee for generously opening their beautiful headquarters space and partnering with us to make this event possible.
