Join Us at Two Spring Events in Portland!

Spring is in the air, and we’re thrilled to be part of two incredible spring events in Portland—Hanami Matsuri and Spring Bazaar! If you're local (or looking for an excuse to visit), come by and celebrate the season with us.

Hanami Matsuri – March 29–30

Spring means sakura (cherry blossom) season, and Hanami Matsuri is the perfect way to welcome it! Hanami is the Japanese tradition of gathering under cherry blossoms to appreciate their fleeting beauty. This two-day celebration includes a bustling market and a relaxed picnic under the blossoms.

  • Market Day

Date: Saturday, March 29th | 11 AM – 4 PM
Place: Electrica Coffee, 2181 NW Nicolai St

Join us for a curated market featuring Japanese-owned vendors offering home goods, seasonal bites, and unique finds. Stop by the okappa houseware table for beautiful home and kitchen goods inspired by Japanese craftsmanship.

Market highlights include:

Fulamingo – Japanese snacks
Soen – Japanese small bites
okappa houseware – us!
Fumi – incense, vintage, art
Okome Kitchen – fermented rice drink
Chanomi – ice cream
Seasonal beverages from Electrica Coffee

  • Picnic Under the Blossoms

Date: Sunday, March 30th | 12 PM – 3 PM
Place: Japanese American Historical Plaza, 98 SW Naito Pkwy

Pack a bento, bring a tarp, and relax under the cherry blossoms with friends and family. Feel free to wear your pinkest outfit to match the sakura! 🌸
